Yay hedge* cutting season  hawthorned x 3 in this household

*for the benefit of the 90% of readers who live in Lundun, hedges are found round the edge of fields, fields are big areas in the country with no houses where food comes from.

We've got seeds dropping off trees as well here. Lots of uncleared cyclepaths with sharp half crushed seeds and nuts. Hmm nice.

Naaah, just imagine concrete walls only green and squishy - maybe with spikes in as well.

Like Tesco and Sainsbury's? Big area, no houses, where food comes from. Why do people in the country call carparks "hedges", why would you "cut" them and why would it give you a fairy-visit?
    I'm confused. :?

kinda, you know how car parks often have plants (those green things) round the edge?
    Bit like that.
  • Round our way its not just hedges that get massacred, its tree branches in the road too  Had one on the way home tonight on a sharp corner with a particularly gifted car driver trying to overtake me on the bend while I swerved into the centre of the road to avoid said branch  Poor chap must have been 10 seconds later getting home, I really must be more considerate to people like him as I presume he does own the road!

Just wait till spreading season. Wouldn't be the first time I've had to make sure the tractor is at the other end of the field before passing

A village I reguarly cycled through got... sprayed one year. The farmer had engaged the gear on the fully loaded spreader by accident and drove straight through the middle of the village.

I let you imagine the results....
