Final commute on my trusty Genesis

In about two hours from now I'll be setting off from work for the last time on my Genesis. :(

Although I have only had the bike for 2.5 years, I've had many an adventure on it. Ridden it from Reading to Edinburgh, which was amazing. Done a few road races, and two sportives. Commuted to work though snow, towed a trailer full of junk to the tip.

Of course, the flipside is that the last of the stack of boxes packed behind my desk have arrived to be carried home tomorrow by car before the new build begins. :)

    What happens to it now?

And what are you replacing it with?

A lovely bit of kit. :D I've received permission from The Boss to buy something similar. :D

Giving the frame to a mate of mine (who some forumites will have met at the Morpeth last week) to build into a fast flat bar commuter.

As for mine, it will be both a daily ride as well as a winter race bike ;) (there was no way the missus would allow me another bike) - Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxxx XX.

I'll post what it is once i've built it (unless someone guesses correctly, of course).

He can't play that card. That's not an argument any man can hope to win.

I'm sure there was another "crime" I was guilty of (e.g. leaving dishes unwashed while surfing for bike bits online...) ... :)

You've noticed my Ti obsession? :o

Sadly not. My budget was fairly small. Plus Litespeed is 9 letters Xxxxxxx is 7. ;)

I remembered you suggesting it for Rich's replacement bike.

Plus I've always loved Litespeeds :)

I could try, but it could mean "withdrawal of privileges" for an indefinite period.

My friend is always amused/impressed that my kitchen cupboards contain equal parts food/crockery/kitchen utensils and bike parts/tools. :)

Bike tools go under the sink, bike parts go in several boxes in the spare room.

It was always a fast flat bar commuter

It will be hard saying goodbye. I find myself using the Genesis over the Spesh for my commute, but that is only because the latter came with dry-weather tyres only. Who would have figured. Waiting for my GP4000S to be delivered.

I'm hoping it's a CX perhaps something beautiful and black, perhaps it's a FGSS
