Hi all ,
I have got a combi s and was just wondering what sort of riding this bike could handle.
I am useing it on some north shore near me and intend to use it at the UK Bike park in Blandford.
Would it be able to handle this sort of ride?
What upgrades would you make?
Cheers in advance.

The Combi is a short travel xc bike really.Depends on how, much you push it,if you are going to want to do jumps/large drops, etc whether you are riding primarily northshore or using the bike for xc and how much finesse you have, but I`d have thought a Meta 6 might be better suited.....................

heres my combi, it takes a hammering, although the original cranks and wheels and forks have all broken during use. i have replaced most parts, leaving only the brakes and gearing. however everything which i have broken has gone on decent sized drops so for the most part it should be fine. i have the hardtail version and the frame feels solid and the geometry of it asks to be thrown about, not sure how the full bouncer will stand up to the same treatment but i doubt it will be far off0 -
I've upgraded a fair bit on my Combi S (Forks, wheels, cranks, gearing, tyres, bars, stem, seatpost, brakes) and it's handled pretty much everything I've thrown at it. Was over in Llandegla a month or so ago and had no problems.
The bottom bracket is pretty low, which is great for cornering, but you might want to look at one of these if you value your chainrings 08267W8Q. Beware if you get one of these you will need to take a dremel to it to make it fit around the main pivot. I've got pictures of what I did if you want.Eyes on the prize.0 -

It depends really. Are your Toras bottoming out lots? How heavy are you? I'm 15st and found that changing the spring made a huge difference to how they handle. There are some good prices on 09 Rebas about at the moment and you can change the travel from 100 to 120mm by removing a spacer should you need it. You could also have a look at some better Toras (I think the SL are the lowest spec one) or maybe Recons? Someone else here may have better recommendations though.Eyes on the prize.0 -

I have rock shox dart 2 on my front and they have never bottomed out i am 13st and so far the whole bike feels great not sure how it will cope with down hill stuff but i guess as long as there are no massive 10 ft drops it should be ok0 -
the beefier AM toras with adjustable travel are a decent upgrade, i have a pair of 08 ones on mine just now after snapping my tora SLs and i really like them, i'm saving up for domains with adjustable travel at the moment, seen a good price on CRC but that is with the view to replacing the frame with a more FR alternative, i wouldnt buy the domains as a long term replacement. possibly some revelations, they are on CRC just now for 350, definately worth a look if you have the money0
