Cleat groove in shoe

Hi i recieved some new Shimano M182 shoes this morning and have just fitted my cleats. However on taking the cleats off, they have made a deep groove in the shoe where the cleats sit. Is this normal or am I being too paranoid as the shoes are new and have a carbon sole where the cleats sit in place?

    its normal mate they leave what looks like a bite mark chap. its how they grip and stay in place
