Best UST for Heavy XC

Hi
I'm interested in folks view of preferable tubeless tyres for a fat XC rider on a 6 inch rig.
I currently have a 2.35 Ignitor on the front and a 2.1 Nevegal on the rear.
I've liked High Rollers but they wore pretty swiftly and got on wull with the Panaracer Fire XC's until they started to burp off the Crossmax rim.

I use Bonty ACX, front and rear. They're tubeless ready, are light, grip will, are predictable and work in 90% of conditions. In my 20 odd years of riding an mtb, I don't think I've found a better all round tyre. I use the 2.1, but I think they do a wider version. I used to have Ignitors on board, but to be honest, found them to be the worst tyres I've ever used (except perhaps Continental cross country 2.0s from the early '90s).
Do you really class a 6" rig as an XC rig though ?Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

Hi Matt,
It's a Giant Reign which is very XC in its angles and in the kit I've built on it. I use it for Forest of Dean, Afan & Cwmcarn etc and for a guy of 15.5 stone, the 29lb beauty does me well.
I'll look into your ACX's as that sounds good. However, I spoke to a shop on Saturday that stated they seep air through the sidewalls just like Spesh 2Bliss. How are yours?0 -
Hi,
The ACX tyres will seep air if you don't use them with a sealant. I use Stans and haven't had a puncture or any seepage (well, no more than you'd get with tubes) since i put them on the bike.
I swapped them onto some new Red Metal 1 wheels a while back and pulled over 20 thorns etc out of the front tyre, no loss of pressure though I find the tubeless ready tyres better than UST tyres, simply because they're lighter and if you do get a puncture, you're not going to get a flat. USTs are heavy and ideally, should still be used with sealant.
I'm 13stone and ride Cwm Carn, Afan etc. i rode in the Lake District last year and had no issues on the Garburn Pass. The descents (either side) are basically just looooong (2-3 miles) rock gardens consisting of babies head sized rocks with the odd square edged fixed slab to try to smash your rims on. I was riding hard enough on my 4" Kona, to keep up with my mate on his Santa Cruz Nomad. The tyres performed faultlessly.
I can't recommend them enough ! Try to get the 2.35" version, you'll love them
they stock them here:
