1. Victor, try not to get too excited.

2. So... who's going to be brave enough to pick Vino?

3. This is the final stage-race of the year. Then it's a quick burst of one-dayers before the end of the season.

Race starts on Saturday in the Netherlands. 3 ITTs, 8 mountain stages, 10 normal stages. That's according the website, at least:

http://www.lavuelta.es/09/ingles/recorr ... o.html?e=p

Start lists are preliminary at the moment:

http://www.lavuelta.es/09/ingles/equipos/index.html?e=p

http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/200 ... start-list

http://startlist.cyclingfever.com/start ... t&id=19140

The first stage is stage 1, not a prologue, despite only being 4.8 km long.

It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

    Thanks.
  • After blowing £75 on a hasty earky bet on Contador (burnt money don't tell the wife), GC had better turn out a decent result with Valverde or the kids will be eating bread and drinking water until the end of the month.

stage 1 could only be Spartacus. 8)
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

No problemo. Don't edit your post though, otherwise I'll miss your changes - just add a new post. Have a nice holiday!

Does this mean you're playing or are you confusing PTP for Gamblers Anonymous? I've put you down on the spreadsheet anyway, so you're playing whether you like it or not!

BTW, I was looking at last year's Vuelta scores...

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... No0GVFV6Dw

... 43 players, only 7 didn't pick Contador! Thankfully there's a bit more variety this year.

quick question...why nobody going for Schleck? if he'd not been trying to protect his brother he would have been an even stronger second in TDF. He also looks a little long in the betting to me...is he not trying in this or is his team not? cheers
