Bike test ride

As some of you might have already gathered from a few of my recent posts, I am quite interested in upgrading my frame to a Santa Cruz Superlight. I currently have a heavily upgraded GT Aggressor 1 which has lasted me nearly 4 years, so this will be quite a change - hence the desire to try before I buy.

I live near Aldershot in Hampshire and I was wondering whether there are any bike shops nearby that stock the Superlight, and particularly one which I could try out. I've done some googling with no avail, so I was hoping that someone would have some local knowledge to help.

Whilst I'm here I think it might also be worth asking whether anyone has any suggestions for a similar full suss frame at a similar price? At 5'7" I'm only small, and I don't weigh too much either! The main constraint on the type of frame is the forks - I will put my 100-130mm Rockshox Revelations on, so I'm limited to frames which can take a 130mm fork. I do mainly XC/trail riding; I've been to Afan and Brechfa a few times, and I regularly cycle around Swinley forest (just to give you an idea of my type of riding).

have a look on the santacruz website they have a list of demo days ect...

i have a heckler and love it it's an amazing bike i'm pretty sure it will take your forks and comes in around the same price as the super light...

Thanks delcol! I've taken a look at the Santa Cruz website and it looks like they've finished with the demo days this year. The other problem is that there aren't any official demo Superlights anywhere near me (according to the site).

I have been tempted by the Heckler, but it is really designed for longer travel (140mm+) forks. I've been reading a few of the Superlight reviews and although it's designed for a 120mm(ish) fork, it sounds like it rides a little easier with upto 130mm.

Does anyone know of a Superlight dealer near me?

Thanks Paul. Yep I've seen that page, and managed to score with Mountain Trax - they have a large Superlight and a small Juliana in as demo bikes so I think I'll give them a ring and see if I can take one out :-)
