Helmet Fit

I'm in the market for a new helmet, as it were. Nothing wrong with my current one, except it makes my head look a bit like a mushroom. :( Not good. Plus, it gets rather hot and sweaty in there.

I've came to the conclusion that my head just doesn't suit Giro helmets. When I got my current one I tried on the small - it looked like it was hovering above on my head. The medium was a better fit, but it extends too much to the sides and rear, giving it a floaty appearance. :?

Before that, I had a Bell (which I still have) that I when I decided to put on one day felt even worse than the Giro.

I reckon I just have a skinny head, if you get me. (Sunglasses seem to be a problem too - anybody know of any for small heads?).

So, in my quest to find a decent fitting helmet I have taken quiet a liking to the Catlike Whisper Plus. :) Anybody have any idea what if that'd be better? I can't seem to find anywhere that stocks it, so I can't try it on to see. :( Although, according to the Wiggle measurements / fitting guide, a medium should be the right size.

P.S. If you start a helmet vs. no helmet debate I will hunt you down!

Have you tried Selev helmets? I use a Selev and it is very good, plus it has an adjustable strap which might help with the sizing issue.

Never heard of Selev, I'll give them a look. :)

Don't all helmets come with adjustable straps? :?

It'd be nice to know of a shop where one could try on some helmets from a load of manufacturers. :D Ahh, only in a dream I suppose ...

    Ooh, they're Italian; there's a start!
