Rocky Mountain Vertex 30

I went to take a look in my local halfords store the other day to have a quick look around but instead must have spent an hour in there! I first looked at a nice CBoardman bike at £550 which seemed very good value for money but what more caught my eye was the Rocky Mountain Vertex 30 at £800.
I plan on spending upto £800 on a bike when I hopefully start work in a few weeks and with a pay monthly option this seemed the right bike for me.
What I want to know is if anybody knows of any better bike with a better value for money as ive not seen the Vertex any cheaper than the £800 in Halfords? (£876 on Wiggle). Also wherever the bike was from would need to have pay monthly options which not a huge APR rate. Halfords was 11 payments of 10% so £880 which wasn't too bad.

yeah just read all that but i dont quite want to spend £1000 squid unless I found a dream bike!! think that's the Vertex 50 or higher.0
