Any thoughts / advice welcome on this one but have been looking around for a couple of months now for a new HT. Have finally shortlisted Cube Reaction (XT and K18) and Lapierre (Zesty and X-Control 210).
Anyone out there have good / bad experiences with any of these or have any other guidance to offer ??
Thanks for any help in advance.

When you say HT I assume you mean full sus
The Zesty and the X Control are 2 different types of bikes, what type of riding are you doing?0 -
As Llama says the Reaction is a hardtail the two frog bikes are full sussers. Hard to compare them.
If it's the Cube you are interested in, I really like mine does everything I want it too and does it well. I have changed the bars to a wider riser as i found the narrow flat bars to be a bit restrictive.0 -

I think I just assumed he was talking about an AMS, so there's a hardtail an XC full susser and a trail full susser there :?0 -
Sorry, my fault there. Getting confused with names and numbers as I've been looking at so many.
I am looking at hardtail only and the Lapierres I'm looking at are the Pro Race 400 and 500.
In terms of what sort of riding, trail mostly.0 -
I have a Pro-Race 500 which I love but it's really an XC race bike. If you aren't going to race I think I'd go for something with more travel and a bit more forgiving! Also the spec (given the price!) on my Lapierre (2008) was a bit basic and I had to do a fair bit of upgrading eg wheels weren't "Tubeless Ready".0

thanks all - very helpful - am most likely to be heading down the Cube route.....any other views and thoughts still gratefully received !0

Westbrooks have some good deals although I've never used them.
Commencal Skin £1350 medium (£700 off)

Scott Scale 30/35 £1399/£1199

These are probably a bit more race orientated but then I've heard th X-control is too...

Thanks very much - the bike looks great. Think I have finally settled on going for the Cube Reaction, ideally the XT, but given that I'm having some trouble getting hold of one at a good price I'll take a look at your recommendation as well....much appreciated....would be great to have it for the bank holiday weekend but suspect that might be a little optimistic !0

CRC have 15% off the Reaction at the moment depends if youre happy to buy online though.0

got my cube ltd race from hargroves 2 weeks ago. turned up in 3 days, could have had it next day if i was available for delivery. They have the reaction k18 in stock, and discounted.

Thanks again all....am ideally after the XT (at the right price) - any views on margin of difference in quality between the XT and the K18 ?? Am I being too fussy ? :?0
