First time post as a newbie to road cycling, switched over 3 months ago from mountain biking, why didnt I do this a long time ago.

Anyway I am heading to just outside Bergerac, any good places where I can hire a bike for a couple of days. If anyone has cycled around here any good routes?

Will shoes etc be included or will I have to take me own gear? Just taking hand luggage so space is tight.

Many thanks for your help in advance

Mark

Hi, stayed near there in July. Camped at St Emillion (very pricey) and cycled round vinyards and sunflower fields, superb. St Emillion is very pretty, but costs an arm and leg. Then went slightly further south and cycled the Lot valley from Cahors to Touzac, great cycling, mostly on small tracks and cyclepaths, suitable for road bike.

Not sure what the hiring situation is over there, as we brought our own, but loads of people on bikes, so should think it would be easy enough. Would doubt that shoes would be included, and more likely that you would get MTB's on hire.

    Lovely part of the country!!
