Fork mounted lights ? Stem mounted lights ?

Folks,
My tricross has mudguard mounts on its forks. I want to use those mounting points for some lights. Does someone make some lights which directly mount on those points, as opposed to via some accessory ?

Same question: all the lighs appear to have their mounts running parallel to the direction of the light so that they can be mounted on handlebars, as opposed to the stem. Anyone know of a light which mounts on the stem ? Even better, one that mounts underneath the stem ?

Preferably, something which does not cost an arm and a leg.... Hope has some stem plate option which is roughly half the cost of the bike...

Thanks

Don't bother with lights on forks - spokes can block their visibility from the side. Possible that they can turn into the wheel and take out your spokes if not 100% secure.

Get an MTE P7 torch and a lockblock from dealextreme - waaay cool and stupid cheap.

Many thanks, this looks like the way to go.

Does anyone know if thereis a version of this which fits on the stem instead of the handlebars, i.e. where the clamp around the lights and the bars are in line with each other and not perpendicular ?

Ah... it's called a bikeblock. That should solve my problems. Many thanks again.

I know the Hope is more cash, but it does work well and quality is high.

I swap mine between my commuter and mtb and it quick and secure. I run a Thomson stem on the commuter and an FSA on the mtb, both run Hope faceplates. Run times and brightness are both very good.
