I have been riding bikes for a number of years, however I am ashamed to admit I know very little about components/maintenance/upgrades.
As stated above I have a specialized hardrock sport disc 2007 I love the frame and have had the bike for a few years and need to upgrade a few of the components the main one being the fork which is a RST Gilla Plus T7 with 100mm of travel and preload adjust. Its a shocking fork that needs binned. The bike is soley used for XC no road riding.
I am looking for suggestions for a replacement fork, unfortunately I have a limited budget so it cant break the bank the replacement fork cant be over £200 ideally im looking for something readily available online so a bargain can be found.
I have been looking at Rockshox recon & Marzocchi MX Pro with remote Lockout are these any good any other suggestions are gratefully welcome.
or any other ideas regarding upgrading this bike would be great!

The Recon SL or Tora Race would be my choice. Infact the latter as it has motion control.0

Yeah I used a recon for a while, pretty good fork.
Just to let you know, I've got an 06 hardrock, and the stanchions have all rusted up on the rst, and its got about 10mm of working travel left in it. Still love it. Lands perfectly from jumps, great for the pump track. Who needs to spend money on a rigid fork? DIY with your sus fork0 -
Most of research I have done comes to the same conclusion; The rockshox range seems to be the best for budget forks, so I have been concentrating my search around that brand and you seem to be able to get some good second hand deals on ebay0

Hi, am in the same boat and having a look around
Narrowed down to Rockshox Recon SL - £175
Marzocchi Corsa TST2 - £206
Rockshox Tora Race - £195
From what I can see, the Recon is lighter than the Tora - however the Tora has motion control so other than weight is the better product ?
The Marzocchi is the heaviest - but how does it perfom in comparison ?
I am not fussed about the weight, as they are all lighter than the Dart 2's on there at the moment.0
