Off road routes near Bradford
Hi all,
This is my first post on the forum so here we go....
I got back into mountain biking last year just as a fun way to lose some weight and it is just as great as I remember as a kid.
(apart from the extra weight I am humping along with)
There are loads of great rides to travel to and so far, dalby red, 7 staines , cannock red, have all been ticked off the list.
But as for routes which are close to home, I have been finding it a bit tricky to locate them.
Ideally, it would be great to have a selection of local routes which I could have a crack at on a evening after work, without having to travel a fair distance.
I am aware of a few.
Ogden water loop, timble loop, stainburn......
But I would imangine their are some super routes not far away given the local terrain.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
I have found a few local websites with some promising routes but nothing on the door step.
I have already tried the OS map, follow your nose idea, but my success has been a little poor and could take quite a while until I find the best stuff.
Any comments or advice would be more than welcome.

Is hebden bridge too far mate?
Some great routes around there.
Trying googling calderdale mountain bike trails... which is how I got this info.

Thanks for the reply.
Hebden bridge is not really that far away but I have always found it tricky to get parked up anywhere before a ride and with local traffic, it can be going on 8.00pm before I even get on the bike.
I already have a few routes around hebden but they are mostly around the 20 miles mark, which is a bit long for a evening ride for my current fitness/ability.
Google has brought up a few results, and I did try a few earlier in the year, but the routes were a little dull and I dont think anything is better than getting the thoughts of other riders.Marin East Peak0 -

there is a ride from st ives at bingley, over harden moor, round back of flappits down side of five flags to cullingworth and wilsden then loop through cottingley woods and back to st ives. Mostly off road with a couple of quiet country roads along the way.about 17 miles ish with a tea room on the way to boot!!!.0

Dont surpose you have a map that you could send me.
