Merida bikes?

Newbie here
I`ve found most of the information I`ve wanted on here, but my local shop sell Merida bikes. I can`t really find any reviews - apart from older Merida bikes - on ther newer bikes. I know one or two people that have heard of them, but thats as far as it goes.
The bike I was looking at is the Merida Matts 40-D.

Does anyone have any opinions or reviews or experience of these bikes?
Does this model compare to any other manufactures?
