Hello guys

I was wondering if the FSA SLK Carbon Compact Chainset S-9 would be compatible with my bike...
Bike's a spesh with Sora shifters (8 speed back, 2 at rings front), sora front derailleur and tiagra 9 speed at the back.
As for the bottom bracket, I don't have a clue.

As well, what do you think about that crankset?

Thanks in advance...

I think it is too good for your bike! Sorry, but the bike's probably not worth much more than the crankset.
I would put the money towards a better bike instead

FSA do their own outboard bottom bracket bearings if you DO get it.

It will be compatable provided the FSA bearings are fitted as well.

I don't agree about it being "Too good for your bike". You fit what YOU want and good luck.

    Hell,yes!
Get a full Dura Ace groupset for it if you like.

Sorry if I'm being thick, but if I buy the aforementioned crankset, will the said bearings be provided or is it anything I should get extra?

Presumably you've spotted the bargain FSA chainsets at Chainreaction?

From the weight it looks like the BB isn't included. And from the picture it looks like it needs an ISIS bottom bracket.
    More problems but still living....

A chainset for the price of a pair of chainrings - whose complaining? It needs an ISIS BB which aren't the most robust / reliable which is an extra £30 or so. You'll need standard British thread BB - 68x108mm
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Why not go for the FSA Gossamer crankset? Theyre heavy at 900g, but they are super stiff, my Eos is super responsive due to them.
    Must go faster.
