Hi,

was off to the north wales region for a few days, would anyone recommend any decent bike friendly b&b's; nothing too fancy or $$, just somewhere clean, preferably not in the middle of nowhere with somewhere to store/clean bikes.

cheers

Where abouts are you looking to stay? Snowdonia's a fairly large area.
I live here, so can't comment on how good the B&Bs are - I've never needed them, but I can certainly give you somewhere to start looking, so to speak.

Oh, and everywhere is "in the middle of nowhere" round here.
In fact, I reckon when people say "in the middle of nowhere", they're actually referring to North Wales

    thanks for the response.

i was looking to be somewhere convenient for both betws y coed and coed y brenin. when i said in the middle of nowhere i meant i wasn't keen on something stand alone, maybe a village, somewhere with a boozer or 2.

    cheers

Hmm. Porthmadog area is probably your best bet then, it's a good middle-point bwetween the two, and you can also link it up with Beddgelert.
Curiously, I haven't been to the "new" trails in Beddgelert, but they've been recommended to me a few times. I must head there soon.

Another place to stay would be Blaenau Ffestiniog, which is almost exactly half way between Betws and Coedy, but I reckon I'd still opt for Porthmadog, as it's more of a "town", and more likely to have everything you need nearby. Ffestiniog is more of a large village.

    Thanks very much.

I saw there have been a few developments since my last visit, probably 3 years ago now.

I'll check out what's going on and plan a few days, should be around in a few weeks...

    thanks again
