BMC Frame Sizing (pro machine)

I've pretty much decided to take the plunge with a BMC pro machine, seeing as there are a few bargains out there at the moment. However, I'm really torn whether to go for a 55cm or 57cm frame. Can any other owners offer advice through their own experience?
I am 6ft (183cm) tall and was leaning towards the 55cm but saw an ad on ebay from a guy who was 5'9" selling one in that size. Effective top tube on the 55 is same as my current bikes, but the c-t seat tube is 2-3cm shorter, even though the top tube doesn't appear to slope that much.
I'm also thinking that there are 3 larger sizes than the 55, yet I would consider myself reasonably tall. On the flip side, the BMC geometries do suggest the 55cm for heights 180-185cm, and 185-190cm for the 57cm.
Your advice and opinions would be fab (esp. if you are 6ft with one of these bikes!) Unfortunately a test ride is not going to be possible, as is so often the case when buying bikes like this!
Cheers, G.

I ride a BMC racemaster 56 cm and I'm over 6 ft tall - I had to put a shorter stem on to stop my back aching.
I am also considering a Pro machine and would go for the 55 cm and work with stem length to make it fit. If you buy too big it would be more difficult. Where are these bargains as I want one too?0 -
Yep I went for the 55 in the end - missed the postie today though so won't get my grubby mitts on it for another few days.
They are a penny under £1400 at chain reaction http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=377080 -
I was hoping for a black and white but they only have red or blue unfortunately. David Millar said he rode a 54cm in the Assen TT on Saturday and he normally rides a 56cm.
What about the internal cable routing is it much of a problem?0
