Hello everyone
Im new to MTB, although not new to riding.
Anyway..... I want to have my frame power coated.
I am a decent mechanic, but have never dismantled a mountain bike before.
Its a 09 specialized p2 so not an old bike and I dont want to mess anything up during the process.
SO - any pointers when dismatling? Any special tools needed etc
Thanks

fair few, if you've got some money to do this then get your lbs to strip it and send it off to argos to have it done professionally.0

Thanks for the reply
I was thinking about asking my lbs to take it apart.
I know a local powder coater that can paint it for me0 -

I have no problem voiding the warranty... I have already modified it so thats gone anyway.0

Make sure the powder coater has done a bike frame before, mine hadn't.
Got the frame back with paint in all the threaded holes and in the BB.
"Yeah, I've masked it all off" he said.
Once bitten, and all that.0 -
Thanks Joe
Snig, im thinking all white frame, or lime green............... 8)0 -
Buy some bolts to go in all the threaded holes and plug them your self. In a previous life I used to regularly send aerospace parts for some treatment or other. Holes get missed and wrong threaded bolt inserted into holes.--
