  • I remember a mate going to one of George's gigs in Croydon back in the late 70's and him and his (then) fiance being the only two in the audience due to to the very bad weather. George gave them the VIP treatment and it ended up being a truly marvellous night for them both. RIP Mr Melly, a true gentleman.

    I saw him live in Kendal once, in the late 80s I think. He was great.
