On Monday I have flights booked to Geneva where I am due to cycle to Nice over two weeks. The bike I was due to use is now unavailable. The seat post was stuck in the down tube and a succesion of well meaning people has tried to get it help but only made it worse. The tube is now impossible to remove as it has been left below the colar of the down tube by being hacked away at.
If anyone can help me with a touring bike either by hiring me one or selling me one that is ready to go with racks ect I would love to hear from you. I will pay whatever it costs within reason. I am 5ft 10 in tall.
The worst part is my stepson is due to come with me and I hate to let him down. A few years ago I cycled around Europe on my Galaxy . I think it inspired him to do something like it, and this is his first cycle tour abroad. You can still see my web blog at www.geoffbikeadventure.blogspot.com
Please call me at anytime if you can help Friday saturday or Sunday. I will fetch the bike if need be. I live in the Birmingham area. My phone number is 07516852801 or home at 0121-240-8268. Please help I'm desperate.

Have you thought about buying just a frame and moving the parts over? How much do you have to spend on your new bike or frame?

How about a PLanet X Kaffenback frame and forks for about £200?
    More problems but still living....

or if you go to a bikeshop that does cheap bikes they can probably do you an aluminium frame and forks for 100gbp and you can do the swap or pay +/- 50gbp for them to do the hard bits of the swap.It won't turn heads but it will work alright.

In this situation you could just get a cheap tourer and some good tyres. It'll weigh a bit more but that might make your stepson fell more confident when he shoots ahead on the hills.

this kind of thing. My tourer was similar to the cheap one except more battered looking.

Marvick: PM sent explaining that I have a Revell Romany Frame which might fit the bill.
