Hi,
I am looking to fit a new set of discs to my Kona, currently have hayes mx-4 mechanicals. Looking to spend around £100 and mainly xc riding and on some trails. Have looked at shimano LX and avid Juicy 3's.
Anyone have any ideas for which would be best to buy, preferably pre bled as i will be buying them online and fitting them myself.
Thanks

LX are ok at that price, though you will want to fit better pads than standard.0

I got some Promax Hydraulic brakes off eBay for around £70 for the pair, they work like a dream. Just fit some kevlar pads from superstar components and the power is insane. They come pre-bled with rotors.

Would really recommend upping your budget slightly and going for avid elixir r.

Brilliant brake, and only £160, pre bled.0 -
nowt wrong with juicy 3s or LXs to be honest. Both good brakes.0

how much difference would i feel with a set of juicys or LX's over my current mech brakes. Would the extra £50 for the elixirs be worth it?0

Awesome brakes, absolute bargain!0 -
Do those come pre- bled and ready to fit?0

I believe so yeah, just check you're getting the right mounts and that the hoses are long enough.0

the elixirs are certainly worth the extra money, all the brake you'll ever want.0
