When i try to send the data i recieve a message,

what has gone wrong? i really dont want to have to delete all of my data from the ride.

Thanks for any help.

I had this message when I left the lead permanently plugged into the USB port. However on re-starting and re-plugging in it worked okay.

You could try deleting anything on the Edge that you don't need. If that doesn't wok you might want to try connecting to another computer.

IME the thing that really lets down Garmin GPS's (I have an Edge 205 and a Legend HCx) is the interface between device and computer.

Check that the .tcx files have been properly created. If you have version 2.8 of the firmware on your unit, it has a bit of a glich that can cause it not to create the .tcx'x properly.

This happened to me after I returned from a 9 day trip in the Alps; I found that although I could see the data in history on the unit, I couldn't transfer it to GTC.
If you look on the unit when connected to your PC, can you see all the tcx files in history?
If not, check in the lap folder that sits below it, they may well be there (as .dat files).
What I did was to first make a complete copy of the history folder onto my desktop, then removed the oldest file in the history folder, it appears that this was corrupt, and causing the others not to create correctly, once this file was removed, the lap files all automatically imported as tcx's into the history folder, and then they exported okay to GTC thereafter.

I obviously got lucky finding the corrupt file straight away, but just work through methodically and all should be okay.

I think this problem started on 2.7 as well, here is a good link to Motion Based that discusses this at length.
