Is my company obliged to allow me to purchase a bike on this scheme or is it solely at their discretion whether or not they opt in..? They don’t seem the most cycle friendly organisation despite employing 600+ full time and another few hundred part time staff…
Why are you laughing..? I'm not laughing...

It's all in the way you spin it. They can save quite a lot of money by writing down the value of the bikes over the year against tax, and they also save employers NI. If the employee signs up to a £1000 bike on the scheme, the company saves about £500; as does their happier/more productive employee.0

Entirely at their discretion. My company only allow you in at a certain time each year, couldn't wait, so just got bike. Good news is that I get 20% discount through work, so was a decent trade off between CtW scheme savings and having bike now."Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0

Spare a thought for us in Northern Ireland. The Govt is one of the few organisations who are not implementing a Govt scheme.0
