Just saw this on the news about a cyclist in Surrey who was beaten near to death by a gang last night.

Hope they get caught and rot & die in prison

    There are probably soon going to be four murderers out there that need putting away in the same cells as some big angry nasty prison queens.

    This is obviously a horrible story but it's also interesting how the media used the word "cyclist" to describe the victim because he was on a bike but "gang member" to describe one of his attackers who was also on a bike. From the Evening Standard site:

    "The victim was then pulled off his bike by one of the men, who was also riding a bicycle."

    No, really, it's not. It was written as a serious comment.

    In the language they're using to describe the event the media are trying to pitch this as the story of a cyclist being beaten by a gang but a man riding a bike being beaten by a gang at least one of whom was also on a bike.

    'Cyclist' or no 'cyclist', they are still scum. Four laying into one person who is now critical ffs the spineless bastards.

    It probably stems from parent discipline and as time goes people start getting into the wrong crowds and then it all keeps on going.

    * Rodney was a guy I was told about from an ex-con. Lovely bloke, liked the young lads in prison and was built like a horse in several aspects. Little s***s like this dont realise this is the outcome they face when they are caught.

    Was out tonight with wife, group of youths threw somethign at me and then hit my wife.

    I was shaking with rage but knew there was nothing I could do...and would prob get a pasting myself. Would love to pick them off one by one.

    My wife works with young people to help them can you believe!

    There really is no help for them, they are like a pack of hounds and just need to be taken off the streets - for a very, very long time!

    I hope the victim makes a full recovery. I also hope they're all convicted of attempt murder and all get lenghty custodial sentences.
