During an over a beer chat tonight this question came up; has Contador ever ridden competitively as a pro up Alpe d'Huez?

Don't think so. He's started the Tour in 05, 07 and 09... the Alpe was in 06 and 08.

AFAIK, the Alpe is never used in any other races.

Ah, I wasn't sure if it was ever in the Dauphine so that answers it if that is the case, no then.
    Cheers :D
  • Ok, that settles it -- if Bertie is in, then the Alpe is in next year's Tour for sure.

*reminisces about Lance's attack on the Alpe in 2001*

    That was great :)
