Following on from the stolen report I posted last week the victim has splashed out nearly 2k on another bike, don't know what model etc but he wants to put some sort of tracking device into the frame rather or maybe aswell as an ID chip. Do such things exist for bikes and which ones to recommend. Will have a google myself later but the quieter roads of Brizzle are calling.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Smart water and micro dots inside your frame are the best bet.

I put a DataTag transponder in mine.

Has anyone ever had a bike nicked and recovered with it or similar?
  • I've stuck an immobitag in mine - it's a plastic bung that goes down into the seattube (and you push it in with the seatpost). I think the more effective thing is the sticker that comes with it effectively saying 'other bikes will be easier to fence'. Have heard of people trashing the immobitags.

Sounds good, where did you hide it and how are you powering it?
