Race Face Evolve XC X-Type BB - Best Replacements?

During the long and drawn out refit of my Giant XTC SX I have discovered that my Race Face Evolve XC X-Type bottom bracket has developed a random and very tough tight spot that keeps changing location with every spin of the cranks. I never noticed it on the bike and it was fine when it was newly fitted, but now I know it's there so I'm going to replace it with something better. :?: Any advice on the best kind of replacement? My friends have recommended Acros and the Shimano XT BB's, the Shimano seeming to be the best value for money and the Acros being a bit of an unknown.

    a tight bearing sounds like missaligned bb cups.

    re new cups also look at Hope.
