Does anyone have any ideas about what to do about the loops in my laces?
When they are tied up, the loops from the knot catch on the crank and cogs, obviously this is very dangerous.
The obvious solution is to tuck them into the shoes but they seem to come out after about 10 mins.
Does anyone have any alternative ideas?
Cheers

That ^^^^ can work if you do it well.
Or you can tie them up so many times that there are no more long loops, takes a while to get them off thoughNow that we are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves. ROMANS 15:10 -
here's what I do with most of my skate trainers that I use for riding.
1) Put them on your feet tight
2) Tie a knot in the lace that is against the hole
3) cut the laces of about 1cm after the knot
Hey presto no more problems with laces
Trainers slip on and off, bit of a push but work everytime.0 -
I tie my right foot one slightly to the side, so it rests on the outside of my foot and doesn't get near to the crankStart Weight 18st 13lbs March 2009

I replace my laces with stretchy elastic material (the stuff that is used in making clothes etc, to provide spring around the waist on so on.
It means they slip on and off easily,
they tend to stretch to a good comfortable fit
and you never have anything hanging around as excess.
Been doing this for years with jogging trainers and gym shoes . . now apply the same to my cycl;e shoes and makes everything so easy.0 -
If you have too much lace, the solution is to have less lace. Park Tools will sell you a pair of scissors for £50Uncompromising extremist0

I thought you weren't allowed out on your bike?0

just tuck the loops and ends under the lace between the top eyelet and knot so they stay away from the crank arms, sorted.0
