Lads,
My mates getting himself his first road bike....a Boardman Carbon 09.
He's 5' 11" tall with a 32/33 " inner leg....he's getting advice to buy a 'medium' which is a 53.5cm....he says hes a little cramped on it...I reckon a Large 55.5cm would be more suitable....
What you lads think?

Well if he feels a little cramped, I think he has his answer. No point being recommended for something, if you are not happy. I would say to him try a large and see how he feels on it.0

What size is the top tube? find a bike where he is not cramped measure the top tube and find out that way, hight is only 1 consideration, you can always highten the seat !0

I'm 5'11" and ride a large. It felt a little long when i first got it but now it feels bang on, have moved the seat back to it's original position and made it a lot higher. Of course he would be completly different proportions to me.
If he says he's a little cramped on the medium just from sitting on it i'd say a large would be better.0
