What are your favourite times to ride? Which days and what times?

My Favourites:

1) 6-10 am Saturday
2) 6-10 am Sunday

The Worse:

1) Rush Hour Mon - Fri
2) Midday sun anyday

  • Before 6 am during June/July on a sunny morning. It's like going back in time to the 1950s when hardly anyone owned a car.

Worst: school run time. Combines with the tail end of the morning rush hour and the early leavers in the afternoon to create lots of frustration-fueled driving.
Also between 11 pm and 12 am. Too many going home from the pubs that shouldn't be driving, especially during the Xmas office party season.

I love riding at lunchtime in blazing sunshine.

    I hate riding before 10:00 a.m.

    Worst:
Afternoon rush hours - seems people are (understandably) more stressed and in more of a hurry on the way back home.

    Best:
Around 10 in the morning when it's sunny - if i'm up for it. 8)
Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.

After 9 in the morning, school run is over, most people at work (during week). :)

Winter morning commutes before sunrise can, naturally, be the pits. But I find a curious satisfaction in facing up to the conditions, and every now and then, it suddenly feels magical to be out and about in my own little bubble of light. Come to think of it, those moments might correlate strongly with tailwinds.

Best-late afternoon early evening.Work away all the stresses/worries of the day.
Worst-early morning-can't haul my butt out of bed (also most dangerous according to recent C+ article -there's apparently a higher risk of heart attacks  )
