Does anybody have any information on the 2010 mtb line up?
Any new colourschemes? or if they are using the same kit as this year.
I have a suspicion that there will only be small changes..if any.
Somebody must have some idea or a snippet of gossip!
My £1000 cycle2work l.o.c is telling me to by my 2009 HT pro but my brain is telling me wait to see the 2010 range! :?

  • As far as I'm aware (from being an Halfords employee), the boardman range run on an 18 month cycle instead of the usual 12 month, Therefore there will be no changes until atleast summer 2010 and more probably towards christmas.

ah, now the value makes sense...

they can buy more stuff at the start of the year, so get a better deal, so can offer lower prices.

However aren't most of the models sold out?
  • There has been a Uk wide shortage of a few particular bikes, however i believe this to mostly be sorted. The main models that seemed to be affected were the Mtb team FS, and the Road team carbon, these seem to be back available now, in most sizes.
  • We are not altering the Boardman range for a 2010 release, the 09 range is
    being continued throughout 2010.

The range was felt to be strong enough to bridge into 2010 and will be
reviewed at the end of the year.

Folks official reply from halfords on 2010 boardman mtbs - no changes

Do you have any web links we can refer to? Did they say anything about the hybrid range?

Looks like the bikes are not being updated, but at least the spec is being updated with 2010 models...I saw a new Boardman HT Pro in the my local Halfords (Doncaster) and it has the 2010 Reba Race, the 2010 version of the Elixir R which now has a banjo on the caliper and the new Ritchey Pro finishing kit...other than that, exactly the same.

I think the bikes tend to be a rolling change - yeah, they release official year versions, but the way they do it keeps costs down.

Looks like Decathlon do the same, use a lot of older kit.

It's to be expected I guess. I doubt they have the same rescources available to R&D as the big names do, to churn into to developing and manufacturing new improved frames every year.

I suspect with Decathlon, they buy components super cheap in huge bulk orders using their mighty buying power, but are then tied to using it on their frames until it sells through! Hence no update on most of their MTB's since 08, components or frames!
  • Does anyone know if the prices will be going up in 2010 as I have to wait until April for the C2W to kick in next?

  • I reckon they build some a lot of 2009 models to keep prices down hence why they keep the current models so long. The decathlon performance range is impressive although I cannot comment of frame.
    So Far!
