Down at Laggan on Sunday and managed to crack the middle chainring, no idea how but result was I lost 2 bolts and bent the ring quite badly. I have 2009 Race Face Evolve XC Chainset but getting totally confused to what I need to replace with, it's black 32t. I don't mind forking out a bit more if there is something better out there, closest I can see is this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=4322 but what does the 104, 110mm about- distance between the bolts?, cheers

Yeah, correct. Distance between bolts. Just measure it, centre of bolt to centre of bolt.

If you've been happy with your race face chainset (up to where it cracked), there theres no reason to replace it with something different. Else, middleburn chain rings are very good.

Also, if you find the middleburn website, you can then find the middleburn contact number, and talk to a man who is probably the most knowledgeable person in the world about chain rings (what an achievement, I know.. :D ). He's very helpful, just tell him you're interested in buying a middleburn chain ring.

yeah get the raceface race or team rings, lasted longer than a steel lx and xt ring even though it's aluminium.
  • Thanks guys, my lbs stocks TA rings so I'm gonnae check them out- they seem to get good enough reviews, plus I can hopefully be operational again by the weekend. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/TA_10 ... 360010824/ :)
