Hi All

Does anyone know if the DT RR 1.1 rims used on these wheels are single or double butted?

link is duff and rims aren't butted. The DTs have single 'eyelets' if that's what you mean.

I believe 1.1 rims are/have been available in single and double eyelet versions. How do you know these wheels are single eyelets when the link is indeed duff?

maddog - apologies about the link I have fixed that now. Yes I did mean the eyelets and not butted spokes. I'm mixing my rims with my spokes, sorry about that.

chriskempton - you beat me to it. DT RR 1.1 rims are available with single and double eyelets.

So back to the question, does anyone happen to know if these wheels come with single or double eyelets? I wouldn't want the single version as the are prone to cracking apparently.

I have tried looking on the hope website but to be honest, if its not MTB related then it hardly gets a mention on there. Its an awful website. Shame cos they make some good products!

yes, sorry. Lazy post. The 32h rims can be had with both, and the link suggests 32h from the pic. The 28h are only single eyelets though, I seem to remember hearing once. Still doesn't answer the question though.

I emailed Hope (I don't know why I just didn't do that in the first place!) and got a very swift response from them.

This wheelset comes with the single eyelet DT RR 1.1 rim on the front and the double eyelet version on the rear. BUT, they no longer do this wheelset and it now comes with black Open Pros.

I think I will ask Paul Hewitt to build a set of these for my winter bike.

These are for winter so would you recommend brass nipples?

Also, would you recommend the pro lock nipples or are they a pain if you ever need to true your wheel up?

yes I'd defintely go brass, and yes I usually go with the prolocks

and I doubt you'll ever need to touch them though. Pauls wheels are bob on.
