Magura HS11 - Brake pads or fluid loss ?

I have had a set of HS11 on my bike for the last few months mainly without any trouble except a few weeks ago I lost a bit of fluid while shortening the hose.
Due to my stupidity the fluid sprayed everywhere including almost guranteed on the pads and wheel rims.
I have just changed the pads which has improved the stopping power but it is still not perfect, Is it possible the rims need a good clean or is the fluid I lost the cause of the reduced bite in the brakes ?
Thanks

Cleaned them with warm water but not convinced there any better though. Is there a soloution I should use better than warm water ?
Thank for your help0 -
A degreaser like muc off.0

Used the degreaser which has done the job , Thanks
Even though I lost some fluid and the brakes seem back to normal would a bit of fluid loss make much difference to the overall stopping power ?0 -
it would alter the bite point I would have thought.0

Just a note incase it helps others.
At first I thought the pad change and rim degrease had solved the problem but once I got out and rode the bike and tried to stop it was no were as good as it should of been.
The only other option was to get the magura service kit and reblead the brakes, With this done the brakes are back to 100% power.
So in all I have the problem down to 3 things :
Pads contaimeated
Rim needed degreasing
Brakes reblead0
