Bought the bike blind which arrived very promptly after 2days. Assembly was quite straightforward though I hit my first problem when I noticed that the back wheel was buckled causing the brakes to rub. I'm hoping its just the spokes that need adjusting. Second problem and more worrying was a graunching sound coming from the back wheel which may be to do with the bearings. There is also a fair amount of play in the bearings at the bottom bracket. Third problem was the crank which could be rotated under pressure without the back wheel turning - don't think thats supposed to happen! Doesn't bode well for cycling in hilly country. The build quality is generally very poor and even though the bike only costs £70 its no excuse for not ensuring that the important components are up to the job they're supposed to do.

There's a contrived Asda "rollback" joke in there somewhere....

With ASDA having pulled the original TV ads because the bike featured was built wrong, with the forks on backwards, you'd think that every effort would be made to get the display models right, wouldn't you? Well only the other day I stopped in an my local ASDA in Bloxwich, and lo-and-behold, the display model had the forks on backwards still! To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0

Yeah, but if you swapped the wheels for some Krysiums, put on Dura-Ace components, new Look pedals, nice carbon forks, and a frame by, say, Colnago, Pinarello, Cervelo etc, making sure to change the saddle to a comfy cut-away or a gel type, plus any other bits I've forgotten, you'd have a pretty good bike.Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0

particularly impressed with the reviewer who reckoned they could get it up to 40mph on the flat
CHAPEAU!!'dont forget lads, one evertonian is worth twenty kopites'0 -
british cycling should sign that 40mph bloke up, hes the next cancellara0

Apparently someone who has £3k bike is going to buy a couple as spares!!!
Surely anyone who has a £3k bike would consider a £500 bike as a spare/commuter rather than a cheap, incredibly heavy thing like that?0 -
To be honest I would buy that bike for some spare niuts and bolts and you get some emergency tires etc. For £70 quid it would be cheaper than actually buying indivudual spares!0

We used to sell £70 nikes at Decathlon.
It wasn't commercially viable as so many were returned due to poor qulaity components and component failure.
They soon learnt and went back to the drawing board and made a better bike rather than the cheapest bike.
Once had a guy come in from Tesco having just bought a bike, forks were back to front.0
