Rear hub exploded??? Should this be covered by warranty???

Ok, took my wheel to a local LBS to get the freehub fixed and within 8 weeks it came loose.
So I took it back and had it tightened but within a week it got loose again so I took it back yesterday.
Had a call this morning saying my hub had exploded and wasn't covered under warranty.
Would the hub have exploded etc if the hub wasn't loose or could it have exploded anyway?
Just a little peed off that I've had to bring my wheel back a few times for the same problem.

how has it exploded?
and what has actually exploded?
if it is the freebody then no.
if it is the hub body then maybe.
but if it has been due to poor maintenance then no as it should have been looked at earlier.
cant say more with out more info (also what hub)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

if the lock nuts aren't kept tight the cone can overtighten on them and crush the bearings and make a grinding noise.
The original hub was a normal deore hub but the shop replaced the bearings etc with an lx one. (it doesn't have any cones on though...)0 -
Explosion....cool......was it like the A-Team? i.e. Did you walk away from it unscathed?'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

Not quite the full story ;-)

Second hand set, 6 months old plus the length of time before... you don't have a warranty for the original wheel. Maybe with new parts.
But what has broke? The freehub? The main axle bearings? And no cones?0 -

Yep that's the same repair job! That's what I took it back for the last time. Surely it shouldn't have gone wrong since then if they fixed it properly?
I don't think they put cones (they're very small if they did) on when they replaced the freehub etc. I think they just took the whole thing out of the wheel and replaced it with a deore lx one as oposed to the deore one which I had before.
I'm not entirely sure if the bearings etc came loose then the hub broke or the hub broke making it loose etc.
And it was Evans in Bristol0 -
Has the freehub body broke? Was that replaced, or just the axle and bearings?0

I'm not entirely sure if it was the freehub. I know they didn't rebuild the wheel and put a whole new hub on but just replaced the bearings etc.
I'm not too familiar with the rear hub etc.
I'm gonna take the wheel to a different bike shop and see what they say. I don't know much about wheels etc but I'm guessing the LX bearings etc wouldn't really go in a normal deore hub??0 -
It is difficult to say what is what - it maybe an original part that has gone.0
