Sidi impulse buy...

I bought a pair of white Genius 5's in June, they arrived, I loved them, but sadly they were too narrow to keep so they went back with no exchange, as the Mega's were not in stock until the 28th Aug
Then 5 minutes ago I thought I'd have a quick check on Chainreaction to see if they had come in early and BINGO they had!! Without hesitating I whipped the card out and bought them.
The problem being, I then thought I really need a new mower (the old one is truly broken), a new bed and more importantly a new car (the old one is a legal write off come November's MOT) so shouldn't be really splashing out on Sidi's, so any words of reassurance that I have made an investment would be very much appreciated

Sidis are nice shoes all right. Your fiscal irresponsibility is shocking however.

At least you'll have comfy feet for all the extra miles you do when you no longer have a car.
Seriously though, i'm sure you'll be able to sort something out.0 -
I did exactly the same with the Ergo 2s yesterday... The way I look at it is i've been a financial idiot for a decade of adult life now, and i'm still not homeless and destitute and even reasonably solvent. It'll all work out!"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

It's been raining that much you can't mow anyway.
Beds are over rated, sleep on the floor its better for your back.
You don't need a car you have a bike therefore shoes are very important.Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!
I RIDE A KONA CADABRA -would you like to come and have a play with my magic link?0 -
Buy a guinea pig or two and some chicken wire and you'll never need to mow your lawn again.0

I hoped you checked out the Probikekit sale, they were doing big discounts on all Sidi shoes until recently (actually, think it might still be on) http://www.probikekit.com/advsearch.php ... 0&limit=780

I got a pair of Genius 5.5s for Christmas and they're an unbelievable improvement on my last road shoes. They still look mint after plenty of miles up here in rainy Scotland.
I met a guy out on the bike once who had a pair, they looked like new but he said he'd had them for 7-8 years... so hopefully your investment is safe!0 -
If it helps, I was out on Sunday wearing new white Genius 6.6s. i think the bike was going an extra 5mphM.Rushton0

I just ordered a pair of Sidi Ergo 2's in White/ White from PBK... How pimped will they look!!!
I blame the forum for talking them up... How can I hide white shoes ffs!... Oh yeah... Under the new overshoes I bought, tooStart with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
My partner is ordering a pair of those, as if her white Energy's aren't enough! The Ergo 2 in white are supremely bling tho' and demand people look at youM.Rushton0

My Diablos have already arrived from PBK. They were doing some Dragon 2's at something like 50% discount - decided to leave it to the next morning to order some and find PBK had withdrawn them from sale!Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Monty Dog, what is the sizing like? I'd been lead to believe that you should order your regular shoe size with the Diablos, ordinarily I would go a size higher with winter shoes but I've took the advice and gone for my regular shoe size.
They look smart, happy with them? (even though you can't have properly tested them yet!)0 -

I did, no Mega size going so I had to spend an extra £10. I've got over the guilt now too, convinced I deserve them now and looking forward to getting them0 -
Fit on Diablos is slightly wider than standard - more akin to a Mega IMO. As always with sides, go up half to one size bigger than normal. FWIW Dragon 2s were listed on Thursday evening for £129 - but wasn't quite sure whether I could justify 2 new pairs of shoes when I've already got, ahem, 9 pairs of cycling shoes!Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

My Diablos have arrived and they're a comfortable if snug fit, I would prefer some toe wiggle room so ordered the next size up as a precaution, they will arrive tomorrow hopefully and I'll keep whichever pair is most comfortable. I'll tell you what though, these shoes are superb!0

I got some liquigas 6.6's from Chain reaction the other week. I'd been looking at them for ages, but then they dropped the price to £155 so I couldn't resist! lovely shoes. I don't know what it is though, but my missus never used to notice new bike stuff. However the last 3 things have all been sprung (shoes, bar tape, tyres). Is it because they're white?0
