Hi
just had a test ride of a Trek EX 8 in view of buying one and loved the bike. I would like to hear from anybody who has one if they have had problems with it. Also what type of terrain they have been riding on it.
Looking forward from hearing back any comments

I picked one up the other day and love it!
Only issues were that i had to chop 3" off the seat post and clipping out of the pedals.
I have only used the bike on roads/canal towpath so I'm yet to see how it handles on more challenging terrain!0 -
As mentioned above, there's already a thread for the EX8, but here's my view after a couple of months ownership:
Pros:
Fantastic looking bike (though you knew that), rides really well on the fox suspension, very good riding position, seems to to take everything in its stride, great components for the money, and its light.
Cons:
Paint rubs VERY easily, so if this bothers you tape up before your 1st ride.
Tyres are ok in the dry, but in our UK conditions they seem to struggle in anything but the dry. (Putting some Mud X's on mine for the winter)
Saddle was uncomfortable for me, so I've changed it for a WTB speed (probably a downgrade)
Pedals went straight on Ebay.
Ridden at Afan once, but mainly at Swinley Forest (forest singletrack)
Where are you buying from, and what's the deal?
Hope this helps.

Great bike. Handles really well, good riding position, light, good spec.
Paint is very thin, I covered mine in copter tape as soon as I got it.
Rocker link bolts can work loose, remove, apply locktite & retighten.
Replaced my wheels with DT5.1D's on Hope Pro II's.
Stock tyres are awful, switched to MAxxis Ardents which are leagues better.
Ridden mainly over Epping (forest singletrack).0
