Anyone tried on of these http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/camelbak-hydration-systems-camelbak-packs/camelbak-summer-range-2009/camelbak-racebak-2-1lt.html things?

Now I dont think I want on for MTBing but they could be good for skiing if they aren't too sloppy on your back.

Theyre meant to have some sort of inner structure system to stop it just slopping to the bottom of your back apparently. Never used one, but I've seen people use them, and you can hardly tell its there. No obvious bulges at all.

Yeah, and it claims that it makes your back more aerodynamic. I really cant see how that can be true..

A mate of mine does hilll running and loves his, says it does slop around but it's not as noticable as a pack. Mind you, I'm not sure how much faith you should put in the judgement of a hill runner

Well, like I say I'd be using it for skiing over biking so it'll be under another layer or two.

They are reduced at merlin but still 64 or so.

Insulated tube didn't stop liquids freezing in bite valve when i used 'normal' Camelbak for skiing (as this part is still exposed) - not sure if this will be better.

Should be better for reduced movement though.

To avoid freezing, just blow the water back into the reservoir

Looks like a terrible idea for skiing/boarding for me anyway:

    1. You can't take it off easily when having lunchtime pizza and beer.
    2. It would get in the way of a proper rucksack used to carry extra layers of clothing, shovel etc.
    3. Looks like it might get in the way of the straps for my avalanche transiever.

    4. On the plus side, it probably smooths out the love handles.

Looks like a great bit of kit, but surely it's just for aero conscious roadies?

Or hold the tube above your head and squeeze the valve.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
