Having drunk too much at the weekend i stayed in bed later this morning which meant that I could not commute by bike and came in on the tube instead. Now I've got to face an awful hot trip home this evening :(

Bloody beer :(

There is no such thing as too much beer - just inadequate preparation.

Do people find that Nuun hydration tablets and similar are effective vs a hangover?

yup, any sports drink makes a great hangover cure, my rowers know when i'm hungover because i grab a lucozade sport from the bar before heading out to coach!

Normally i'll have drunk it and perked up by the time they're on the water.

For the electrolytes, or the energy, or both? I always have a raspberry lucozade sport in the fridge and it tends to get replaced either Saturday or Sunday, depending on the weekend's socialising...

commuting by bike is about half the time of using the tube, for me, so if I do have a hangover, a turn on the bike clears the head fantastically and I'me readier for work.

What are these magical hydration tablets you speak of?

These chaps - though there are non-bike-specific alternatives, such as Dioralyte, and the old "orange squash with some salt" trick if you're feeling thrifty.

EDIT: sorry, no idea why the url link is playing up - maybe the parentheses? Anyway, cut and paste that url and it takes you to the Wiggle page.

The Central Line was suspended last night, my train on the Jubilee line was pulled out of service after 1 stop and I had to wait for the 4th train to come along before I could get on. It took me about 2 hours to get home

Came by bike this morning :D
