What Forks?

Hi,
I have recently started freeride mountain biking (as opposed to my usual choice of XC) and basically i want to hit the dirt jumps and freeride trails, but with the ability to pull of tricks (tailwhips/barspins in particular). However my current set of forks do not allow the full rotation due to restriction of brake cables etc etc
Does anyone know what type of forks/brakes i need to be able to do this? I still want them to be single crown if possible (i can decide the amount of travel i want later), so if anyone can tell me what type of forks i need and any suggestions for me to look at i would be VERY greatful

Basically it cannot be done with a geared bike. Unless you use really long cables from your bars, which is dangerous.0

ahh. puts a stop to that then! ok no probs, time to get saving then

some of the slopestyle guys run the cables/hoses really long to the rear and zip tie them all together into a single cable, that reduces the risk a bit. but basically if you run them long enough to add a complete rotation and still have enough to turn the bars you should be okay.
I mean you can run the front brake line through the steerer tube, run the rear through a trixxer hydraulic gyro and then you've just got your gear cables. IIRC one of the pros ran a top-tube mounted shifter so it wasn't an issue. Wouldn't be hard to rig out of an old band on downtube shifter.0 -
hmmm sounds very tech and interesting, would like to try it (give me something to do and achieve), but for the sake of pulling a few tail whips i might just save up and buy a jump bike....saves me ruining my pitch too
can get some pretty good jump bikes for around 500-600 notes.Luke0
