My good lady is about to buy her first road bike, due to budgetary constraints she looked within a certain bracket and it's looking likely she will be going for a 2010 1.2 Trek: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/trek/12-triple-2010-womens-road-bike-ec019679
She tried Cannondale, Giant, Orbea and Specialized also, but has settled on the Trek as the winner for her. I myself have never had a Trek and just wondered how people have found their lower budget road bikes to be?

I recently got a trek 1000 with busted wheels for 70 quid and I am very happy with it. As long as she doesn't mind sora shifters they are great bikes. I would only really reccomend budgeting for a new seat as because the stock bontrager ones are horrible. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle
