Hi Everyone,

I know that a good few of you on this part of the Forum have had the pleasure of corresponding and even meeting my good friend Ken Middlemiss (known as Ken Knight on here).

As many of you know, Ken suffered serious brain damage in a cycling accident in Plymouth in March 2009 and he is still unable to speak, walk or eat. Ken is making incremental improvements but progress is slow, and like many victims and their families, Ken and his family will need the support of the Headway charity in Plymouth over the ensuing months or longer.

A close friend David List, who lives in the same village as Ken is embarking on the End to End from Lands End to John O'Groats in aid of this charity. Any sponsorship you could offer would greatly appreciated. You can donate easily at
http://www.justgiving.com/David-List

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I suspect that we'll keep you updated on David's progress on the YOGi website.

Oh No....this is a total tragedy....

I had regular correspondence with Ken over the years and I did actually wonder why I hadn't heard from him?....I had 'assisted' him with an entry on the FWC this year and I knew he couldn't wait for it...then I saw he never attended...I wondered why but thought it rude to ask?....now I know the reason....and its the worst reason imaginable.

I'm absolutely gutted....for Ken and his whole family...he absolutely loved his cycling and had true passion...nicer bloke you won't meet.(he even waited for 2 hours at the end of the WRC to talk with me)..a decent all round sincere gentleman.

    No problem with donation...

This is terrible news that has truly hurt me....I'll certainly have to contact him/David List and find out more details...

Thanks very much indeed for posting this....

Ken is one of 'the good guys' - always there to offer help and encouragement and I have spent many happy hours riding with him. He was part of a team I put together to tackle sportives (a few years ago) and without doubt was a key member to our successes.

My thoughts go out to his family, I will see what help I can be.
