All day I have had this song buzzing around in my head. Why this song.......I don't really know...but it just won't go away!

The Germans have a useful word for this: ohrwurm. Meaning, literally "ear worm" it's a tune that gets stuck in your head. The Germans have a lot of useful words like "schadenfreude".

I regularly get the Thomas the Tank Engine theme tune stuck in my head these days. There's one of those kids rides in the entrance of the local supermarket and it plays the tune every time you walk past. I've started putting my fingers in my ears as I walk by in an attempt to stop hearing it, but the act of doing so just brings the tune up out of memory and it gets stuck in my head anyway. In fact, mentioning it now has just got brought it back. F**k. :x0
