To much bike and too heavy in my opinion. Look for something with less travel and not designed for as much hammer as the Banshee.

Our What Bikes sticky isa good starting place.

Just started riding again in the north east.

Hamsterley has a number of trails i did the red last week and was fairly straight forward bar a few steep climbs. I did the 26 mile lakeside path at Kielder which was OK, looking to do the trails there in the next few weeks.

Look at cycle routes in the area, Hadrians way, NCN 14, 1 etc.

I am sure others will have some suggestions also.
  • in dalby forest in north yorkshire try that out.

Lots of like-minded people from our area with plenty of help, advice, routes etc.
Society is like a stew. You have to stir things up now and again otherwise the scum will rise to the top.
