Which Hardtail? for a £1000.

I am after some suggestions about which is the best hardtail to go for. I am looking to spend around £1000. I have looked at a few, being quite new to the sport I dont want to waste the money on a load of junk. I was looking at the Orbea Lanza Compair, what do you think? :?
