Yeah, I must admit it looks and sounds good. How are you getting on with your Nero Corsa by the way?'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

I actually rebuilt it on Wednesday after giving up on it in April. My main gripe with it is the geometry and lack of front end stiffness - the headtube is simply 3 or 4cm too long. The bottom bracket stiffness is pretty good though, which I noticed after nearly 9months solely on the Ribble winter bike. It's not as smooth as the winter bike (when used with the same wheels), but that's probably down to it's stiffness, which I wouldn't want to trade anyway
EDIT: I think I just contradicted myself.0 -
The front end is fairly high but I don't mind that at all. That might be something to do with my MTBing background and the fact that my commuter is a Tricross which has an even higher front end.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

@KillerMetre
Hello. I'm looking for a Cannondale CAAD9 frame, all the shops seem to sell only complete bikes. I've noticed you post about buying only the frame from a shop; can you pls tell me the name and/or the e-mail of this shop?. Thank you in advance.0 -
Another caad9 not mine by the way, it looks real sweet

I'd love a CAAD9. I was seriously tempted by some of the £999 deals that were kicking about a few weeks ago. My Allez is too big for me but having shelled out on a Campag-shod bike and two Campag-splined wheelsets I'd want to put Centaur or Veloce on it. Bloody shame we can't get buy Cannondale frame and forks only. Oh and it'd have to be that uber cool white/red NapoleanD posted earlier. 8) I think Evans had them with a 105 triple. Wish I'd bought one now.0

Is the CAAD9 hugely better than the earlier incarnations? I had a CAAD5 and to be honest I don't miss it - find the carbon frames I've bought since better at absorbing road bumps, and stiffer in the BB :?0

WRT to that white one in the first picture, are those forks resprayed to match or do the forks come in white if you buy the frameset only? The white whole bikes seem to come with black forks.0

I have a 2009 white one (same scheme as pictured) with the black fork. As I understand it, the white fork is only available on US bikes/framesets. I guess the photo is from the US as it's BB30 which was pretty much only available on US framesets for 2009. 2010 bikes all have BB30 and higher spec ones also have the 'Premium' rather than the pictured 'Ultra' fork that has a carbon steerer tube in addition to the carbon blades of the Ultra.
PS. After feeling a bit of bike envy of some of the cheap carbon bikes available for a similar price and wondering whether I bought the right thing, I went out on my CAAD9 this morning and remembered why I love it so much :-) I'd post a picture but it's still stock so not much point.0 -
If you love the Cannondale then this is a pretty good alternative, no?

CAAD 9 Ultegra SL (£1000 on cycle to work scheme!) What a totally awesome bike. Seems to have a fantastic sweet spot between 20 and 30 mph where it absolutely flies, especially in London traffic. It puts a big fat grin on my face. Everytime.0

For those of you lookig for a CAAD 9 frame, there's a new one being sold in the classifieds "Frames for Sale" in the back of Cycling Weekly (yesterday's edition). Medium, Black, 400 notes.0

I just dropped onto the us website and saw that they ave a whole range of models that look much more interesting than the bog standard 105 or ultegra that you get in the uk
Still though the general raving that this bike seems to get means i should check it out .0 -

I don't know who this guy is but he has you hooked!! Me, as I go through my mediocre life, I set myself simple goals. One of them is to think and make up my own mind on what I like and dislike. I try not to be led sheep like along lifes highways and byways.

White ones is a looker!
Though the black with some Red Tape, Saddle, Outer Cables and Fulcrum 7s (Red) would look tip top0 -

That's one nice looking bike!
The only thing about these Cannondale's for me is the "made in USA stickers", I just don't like them. I don't think I'd have bought my Sabbath if it had said "made in China" down the side either.
Odd reason to not buy a bike I know, but hey - we have to differentiate somehow....0 -

My Six13 has 'Handmade in USA' on the seat stays. I guess it's each to their own, but what's not to like?

where did you get it from? I'm still holding my Halfords C2W voucher waiting for the Ltd Ed team carbon to come in, but I'd seriously consider getting this instead but haven't found any in stock with that set up.Limited Edition Boardman Team Carbon No. 448

Not as pretty as White Line's. Cosmic Carbones (in white) or Dura-Ace 50mm is my plan but this is meant to be my winter bike (it is how I justified it). :oops:0 -
Nice to see you got the rear Veloflex sorted! Looks smart.0

does my new (old) 08 CAAD9 CX bike count?
Yes - just back from some mud fun...

I owned one... for a week. All my fillings fell out... and it wasn't particularly quick, nor did it climb that well. Glad it was an eBay purchase, so no money lost. I don't know why people rate these things.I'm at that difficult age... somewhere between birth and death.0

Are you sure your aren't talking about yourself rather than the bike?0 -
I test rode one a few weeks ago and was very underwhelmed after what I'd read on here. Was only for about 10 miles or so though.
After riding a mates Principia I've decided to build up one of those instead.Basso Astra
