I've posted elsewhere about my disappointment during my test ride of s Specialized Secteur today. I have got to ring Evans cycles tomorrow to order a Trek 1.2 to test ride. However, whilst continuing to mooch through their website I came across this Scott Speedster S50 (09 model). Advice from people on these forums has been to maybe look for an 09 model as there may be money off in a sale. This bike is down from £749 to £599. It looks good, any thoughts?

Im the wrong guy, i like scotts and hate treks! Both bikes have a lot of own brand components. The same scott frame on fork is used up to a £1100 product i dont know much abuot the trek other than its frameset is about 300gms heavier. Quite a similar package. As a new guy the triple on the scott (extra gears) may be easier until you build leg strength. I would suggest you search for reviews on the web.
