Looks like the forum's favourite is going to win this year - LA has a 16 min lead over Dave Wiens with 20 miles to go.

Shame, I was hoping Wiens would do it again this year.

He had one on the 12th. But it's an irrelevant question.

If there are no controls, we raise an eyebrow and smirk. If there are controls, we say "Yeah, but these guys know how to beat them." Then we raise an eyebrow and smirk.

LANCE is possibly the most famous ROAD cyclist in the world. Therefore discusions on LANCE should be in the ROAD section.
I have nothing more to say on the matter.

Looks like you've been outvoted. Do you have a picture of someone sulking?

So he's reduced to winning local mountain bike races?

I think you seriously under-estimate the toughness of the event and the quality of the field at Leadville.

  • Simply means it's a slow week in proper racing.
    Let the lads play........

Take it as a learning experience.

Next week, the biggie. Tour of Ireland, here we come.

The tenth guy was an hour down. Hardly a close race stuffed with the cream of world cycling. Maybe Gibo Simoni, Fuglsang and Kesiakoff would have "schooled" Armstrong, not to mention Sauser or Naeff?

Gibo would have been good entertainment, at the very least.

Possibly? I don't think there is any doubt whatsoever that he's the most famous road cyclist in the world.
